Centre of Excellence for Intelligent Robotics & Autonomous Systems
Bachelor Degree of Mechatronic Engineering programme is one of the multidisciplinary programmes often receives attention locally and internationally. Mechatronic Engineering is often said to be a modern buzzword, synonymous with automation, electromechanical systems, robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). Robotics is a combination of engineering and AI elements, and involves various aspects such as design, development and operation. Robotics and AI turns out to be important and useful and have successfully aid human affairs, in various fields involving industries, agriculture, medicine and so on. Thus, with respect to this importance of robotics and AI in general to the country as well as to the society, the Centre of Excellence for Intelligent Robotics & Autonomous Systems (CIRAS) was established in UniMAP.
Objectives
To centralize research and consultancy activities based on robotics and AI that have been carried out by various research groups in faculties to stimulate better success
To facilitate the organization of programmes / courses for students and communities based on robotics and AI, which can also be used to promote UniMAP for student recruitment
To strengthen UniMAP’s achievements in the field of robotics and AI; helping to improve ratings and rankings, as well as supporting the sustainability of future development as outlined by the United Nations (UN) through the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
